Gliding is a body movement term in anatomy. What is gliding? Gliding occurs when the surfaces of bones slide past one another in a linear direction, but without significant rotary or angular movement.
If you wave your hand from side to side, gliding will occur as the carpal bones of the wrist slide over one another.
